The Visakhapatnam Meteorological Centre has issued a red alert for 5 AP districts, Visakhapatnam, Anakapalle, Konaseema, Kakinada, and West Godavari, due to an intensifying low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. Likely to become a depression and cross the coast on Aug 19, heavy rains, thunderstorms, gusty winds, and precautions are advised for residents.
