SC Orders Appellate Tribunal For West Bengal SIR Appeals
The Supreme Court of India has directed the Election Commission to set up appellate tribunals of former high court judges to hear appeals from people whose claims were rejected during West Bengal’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. It also asked the EC and state government to fully support judicial officers handling the revision.
