Census 2027 To Record Duration And Reason For Migration
The Census 2027 will include questions on migration, capturing individuals’ duration of stay and reasons for moving. Conducted in two phases—House Listing (April–September 2026) and Population Enumeration (February 2027)—the digital exercise will cover all regions, including temporary residents, and include caste enumeration as notified by the Centre.
