UNESCO Confirms Damage To Iran’s Historic World Heritage Sites
UNESCO has verified that several of Iran’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Tehran’s 19th‑century Golestan Palace, the Chehel Sotoun palace and the ancient Masjed‑e Jāme mosque in Isfahan, have been damaged amid ongoing US and Israeli military strikes. The agency expressed deep concern and urged protection of cultural landmarks during the conflict.
