India Grants Citizenship To Pakistanis In Gujarat
India granted citizenship certificates to 195 migrants from Pakistan at an event in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Of these, 122 beneficiaries received citizenship under the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. The recipients belong to Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities. Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said they are beginning a new life in India as refugees.
