Bird Flu Cases Rise Across 4 Nepal Districts
The H5N1 avian influenza has spread across 4 districts in Nepal, affecting 23 poultry farms in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, and Chitwan. Over 113,000 birds and 211,000 eggs have been destroyed. First detected on March 18, authorities are working to contain the outbreak, which can infect humans and cause illnesses ranging from mild to severe and sometimes fatal.
