Sri Lanka Rescues Iranian Sailors From Distressed Naval Ship

Sri Lanka’s navy and air force rescued about 30 Iranian sailors from the Iranian naval ship IRIS Dena after it sent a distress call near the southern Galle district on March 4, 2026. The vessel was sinking just outside Sri Lanka’s waters. The injured were taken to a hospital in southern Sri Lanka. Rescue work is ongoing.
