Calcutta HC Seeks ECI Clarification On Electoral Roll Revision
The Calcutta High Court has directed the Election Commission of India to file an affidavit explaining why the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls is being carried out based on the 2002 voters list. The SIR is underway in 12 states, including West Bengal, ahead of Assembly elections scheduled before mid-2026.
