India Boosts Defense With Local Tejas Engine Facility
GE Aerospace has partnered with the Indian Air Force to establish a domestic maintenance depot for F404-IN20 engines powering the HAL Tejas fighter jets. The facility will be developed in India with GE's technical support, strengthening self-reliance. Also, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has ordered 99 engines to equip initial fleet of 83 Tejas Mk1A aircraft.
