Karnataka Flood Alert As Krishna River Swells
Heavy rains have swollen the Krishna River basin, prompting flood alerts in Karnataka. Basava Sagara Reservoir’s 30 gates were opened, releasing 1.6 lakh cusecs, submerging bridges and cutting off villages. Bhima and Malaprabha rivers are also at risk. IMD forecasts continued heavy rain across Karnataka for seven days, with light rain in Bengaluru.
