Does MCC Apply To Local Body Polls Across States & UTs?
The Model Code of Conduct (MCC) applies to local body polls in Indian states and Union Territories when notified by the State Election Commission. Once the polling schedule is announced, the MCC comes into force, regulating conduct of political parties, candidates, and government authorities to ensure free, fair, and unbiased municipal and panchayat polls.
