FM Sitharaman Confirms India’s FY26 Fiscal Deficit At 4.4%
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman told the Lok Sabha that India’s fiscal deficit will remain at 4.4% of GDP in Financial Year 26. The government cut expenditure in revised estimates to ₹49.65 lakh crore and proposed a ₹1 lakh crore Economic Stabilization Fund, while the Lok Sabha approved ₹2.01 lakh crore in supplementary grants.
