SC Declines Construction Ban In Delhi Despite Hazardous Air Quality
The Supreme Court refused to impose a blanket construction ban in Delhi-NCR despite AQI levels ranging from very poor to severe, saying it could harm livelihoods. The bench, led by CJI BR Gavai, sought a detailed report on AQI monitoring and stressed that graded restrictions must rely on expert data. The case will be heard next on November 19.
