TN Govt Approaches Supreme Court Over Deepam Ritual
The Tamil Nadu government has moved the Supreme Court against a Madras High Court order allowing the Karthigai Deepam lamp to be lit on Thirupparankundram hill. The state argues the ritual site is disputed. The High Court earlier allowed the petitioner to light the lamp with security. The Supreme Court will hear the plea urgently.
