DMK Moves Supreme Court Against SIR Exercise
DMK’s R.S. Bharathi moved the Supreme Court against the second phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in 12 states and UTs, calling it “constitutional overreach.” The petition alleges SIR acts as a de facto NRC, imposing citizenship-like proof and risking the disenfranchisement of lakhs, threatening free and fair elections.
