The Supreme Court has asked the Union government and Ganga-flow states for an updated report on riverbank and floodplain encroachments, noting the 2024 data is outdated. Bihar reported 213 encroachments in Patna, with 58 removed. The court will review updated reports before issuing final directions, hearing the matter again on April 23.
