AC Myths: Does Lowering Numbers Increase Heat?

Lowering AC temperatures doesn't create heat; it increases cooling. Raising the number (e.g., from 18°C to 26°C) simply reduces the cooling effect. The lower the number, the longer the compressor runs to chill the room. Unless your AC is specifically set to "Heat" mode, it cannot blow warm air into your living space.
