Kaziranga National Park Hosts Diverse Wildlife Species
A survey by the Wildlife Institute of India identified 77 species of freshwater fish in Kaziranga National Park's rhino domain. Simultaneous surveys showed that the 1,307 km park hosts nearly 40% of the 274 amphibian and reptile species and over 18% of the 422 freshwater fish species found in Northeast India. Kaziranga remains a vital biodiversity hotspot.
