Security Forces Kill 18 Naxalites, Recover Rifles
At least 18 Naxalites, including top Maoist commander Modiyam Vella, were neutralised in an encounter in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district. The operation occurred near the Bijapur-Dantewada border. Security forces recovered weapons, including AK-47 and INSAS rifles. Vella, involved in the 2020 Minpa ambush killing 17 personnel, carried an ₹8 lakh reward.
