Centre Proposes GST Exemption On Health, Life Insurance Premiums
The Centre has proposed removing 18% GST on individual and family health and life insurance premiums. Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary, leading the GoM, confirmed consensus among states. The GoM’s report will be submitted to the GST Council by October. This move is part of broader GST reforms aimed at categorizing goods under 5% and 18% slabs.
