Iran’s Gulf Power Hit as Naval Chief Reported Dead
Alireza Tangsiri, commander of Iran’s IRGC Navy, was reportedly killed in an Israeli strike in Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. Israel has not confirmed the attack, and Iran remains officially silent so far. His death could weaken naval control over the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil transit route. Tangsiri was a veteran of the Iran-Iraq War.
