GST Council To Discuss Major Reforms From Sept 3-4
The GST Council, chaired by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, will meet in New Delhi on September 3-4 to discuss key reforms, including shifting to a two-slab structure of 5% and 18%. The agenda includes GoM recommendations on rate rationalisation, compensation cess, and insurance. A 40% special rate is proposed for luxury and sin goods.
