Cabinet Approves Single Regulator For Higher Education
The Union Cabinet approved a bill to replace UGC, AICTE, and NCTE with a single higher education regulator, now called the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhikshan Bill. The new body will handle regulation and professional standards, which remain with the administrative ministry. Medical and law colleges will remain outside its supervision.
