Disney Invests $1B in OpenAI, Grants Character Rights
Walt Disney is licensing over 200 characters, including Mickey Mouse and Cinderella, to OpenAI for its AI video platform and taking a $1 billion stake. Under the three-year deal, OpenAI can generate videos using Disney characters, while Disney will use the platform for products, Disney+, and employees, with an option to acquire additional equity.
