OPENING BELL: Sensex Down 1,635 Points, Nifty At 488 Points

The Sensex and Nifty opened at fresh record levels in early trade on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The Sensex started trading today at 71947.55, down at 1,635.67 points or 2.22%, and the Nifty was at 22331.40, down at 488.20 points or 2.14%. Meanwhile, the Indian rupee was trading today at 94.33 against the dollar.
