25,000+ Candidates File Nominations For Telangana Panchayat Polls
Over 25,000 candidates filed nominations for the first phase of Telangana Gram Panchayat elections on December 11. The SEC received 25,654 nominations for 4,236 panchayats and over 82,000 for 37,440 wards. Scrutiny is underway, with withdrawals allowed till December 6. Elections will be held in three phases for 12,728 sarpanch posts and 1.12 lakh wards.
