EPFO Hikes Death Benefit To ₹15 Lakh, Annual 5% Raise From 2026
The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has announced an increase in ex-gratia for subscribers who die while in service, raising the amount from ₹8.8 lakh to ₹15 lakh. This new rule came into effect on April 1 this year. Also, from April 1, 2026, the ex-gratia amount will increase by 5% annually.
