In Kerala’s Kottayam district, a woman was forced to drink alcohol, smoke beedi, and endure torture during a black magic ritual meant to expel a “ghost.” Police arrested her partner, his father, and a sorcerer after her father’s complaint. The partner’s mother, who arranged the ritual, remains absconding.
