Sholay Director's Cut: Original Ending Revealed After 50 Years
Sholay returns to theatres in a restored 4K version featuring its original ending, removed in 1975 due to Emergency-era censorship. Director Ramesh Sippy revealed the censor board found the climax too violent, as Thakur originally killed Gabbar. The re-release, Sholay: The Final Cut, will finally show audiences the intended conclusion on December 12.
