SC Permits Passive Euthanasia For Coma Patient
The Supreme Court has permitted passive euthanasia for 32-year-old Harish Rana from Ghaziabad, who has been in a coma for 13 years after a severe fall. For the first time, the Court applied its 2018 Common Cause judgment, updated in 2023, allowing life support to be withdrawn under India’s right-to-die-with-dignity law.
