Indian indices closed modestly higher Wednesday with Sensex up 0.13% (80,747) and Nifty gaining 0.14% (24,414) after India's PoK strikes. Broader markets surged - midcaps rose 1.36%, smallcaps 1.16%. Auto and realty sectors led gains while FMCG lagged. Tata Motors (+5.2%) topped Sensex, Asian Paints (-4%) dragged. Volatility index inched up 0.34% to 19.06.
