In Bengaluru, a 59-year-old man, posing as a parrot astrologer from Tamil Nadu, was arrested for cheating an Income Tax officer. He approached the officer, promising future predictions and special rituals for career growth. He collected Rs 50,000 cash initially, then gold ornaments (194 grams) and silver (1.3 kg) worth over ₹20 lakh, claiming they were needed for rituals.
