Delhi Imposes ₹5,000 Fine For Open Burning
Delhi government will fine ₹5,000 for burning garbage, leaves, plastic, or other waste in open, following NGT orders. Officers, including tehsildars, sanitary inspectors, and MCD/NDMC officials, can collect fines on the spot. Penalties go to the Delhi Pollution Control Committee, and monthly reports on enforcement must be submitted without fail.
