Ivory Smuggler Caught, Elephant Calf Saved In Assam
Assam police seized 4.6 kg of ivory from a suspected smuggler near Jonai, aiming to expose a larger trafficking ring near the Arunachal border. In contrast, forest officials rescued a trapped elephant calf near Kaziranga with villagers' help. The calf was safely freed using an excavator after a two-hour effort.
